In the village of Witley not far from Godalming, the White Hart is a delightful country pub which dates back to the 16th century. Bell ringers from the nearby All Saints church, who meet at the pub for their 'post-practice sessions', marked the brewery's 300th anniversary (in 1998) by ringing a specially-composed peal of 1,698 changes of Stedman Triples.
The White Hart restaurant is very popular and there's a large garden with barbecue for summertime eating.
The pub is within easy reach of Goodwood racecourse, Petworth House, Lugershall Winery and many country walks.
