The BuildingBuilt in 1387 as two cottages to house farm workers from the nearby hop gardens. The Peacock is a timber framed typically Kentish style building with weather board cladding and tile hung façade hiding ancient timber framing and set back from the road amongst hop gardens and fruit orchards A wealth of old timber beams (mind your head) and a lovely inglenook fireplace. Comfortable bars serving Shepherd Neame's fine ales and lagers. With an excellent restaurant serving fine meals, as well as a selection of tasty bar meals, all this makes the Peacock an excellent choice for a visit. Nearby Bedgebury Pinetum gardens, Sininghurst Castle, Tenterden Vineyard Park and Finchcocks-Living museum of music, Goudhurst.
