The William IV is in the Wealden village of Benenden, perhaps best known for the school where the Princess Royal was educated.
The pub's within easy reach of the nearby 'touristy' towns of Cranbrook, Hawkhurst and Tenterden, with their wealth of antiques shops. Sissinghurst Castle is just up the road and Biddenden Vineyard is a short drive (or a long walk!)away.
The informal restaurant has an excellent local reputation and the relaxing bars present the perfect opportunity to savour the delights of some superb Kentish ales
