Bull at Riseley

Bull at Riseley

The Bull is temporarily closed and undergoing refurbishment. We will be reopening in February 2012 so please keep checking this site for further details.

The Bull Inn is not far from the A33, close to Wellington Country Park which was established in 1974 by the eighth Duke and Duchess of Wellington to provide the growing population of the Thames Valley with access to outdoor pursuits.

The pub has a rural village location, but sits on the busy Basingstoke Road providing a warm welcome to passing trade and locals alike.

Parts of the pub date back to 1540 so the pub exudes an old world charm. It is a family friendly place with space outside for children to burn off excess energy while food is served to please all ages. The fare is traditional with a daily specials board.

Usually once a month the pub hosts an occasional music performance and also encourages jam sessions from time to time.

This pub could be considered the social hub of the village hosting parent teacher meetings, meetings of the football team and the knitting circle.

It holds a quiz once a fortnight and pool, darts and cards are on offer.

Recent visitors include Sir Michael Parkinson, Steven Spielberg and football manager, Lawrie Sanchez.
