Faversham is one of the most charming and historic small towns in southern England, nestling between the rural beauty of the Downs and the sweeping flatlands of the north Kent marshes. With hundreds of listed buildings, a thriving commercial heart and a wide range of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs it is home to a vibrant community proud of its ancient heritage, but which lives firmly in the 21st century.

The town and surrounding villages have excellent transport links and are easily reached from the M2, A2, M20, the Thanet Way and Ashford International Station.

Faversham is not only a great place to live it is also a good place to do business. The town and surrounding area is home to a vast spread of commerce - brewing and agriculture live cheek-by-jowl with traditional manufacturers and a host of small of businesses, ranging from high-tech software developers to experienced craftsmen.

Shepherd Neame are at the heart of Faversham and have been brewing in Faversham for more than 300 years. The Faversham Brewery produces more than 5.5 million gallons of beer a year and the company runs an estate of 300 tenanted and 60 managed pubs concentrated in Kent but extending to London, Sussex, Essex and Surrey.

According to Robert Neame, Shepherd Neame can claim to be the best family-owned and run brewery in the country.

Shepherd Neame have many pubs in the town, two of which have excellent letting accommodation.

The Sun is a traditional ale house situated in the conservation area of Faversham. It has a wealth of old beams and a huge inglenook fireplace. It also has 9 outstanding en-suite bedrooms, a superb family beer garden, restaurant and bar.

The Railway Hotel is a Victorian pub that retains most of its original features. The 7 well appointed bedrooms (all en-suite) are now better than ever following a recent refurbishment and the hotel is an ideal base for exploring Faversham.

The White Horse at Boughton is on the outskirts of Faversham and a delightful 15th century coaching inn. Complete with lime-washed beams and inglenook fireplaces, the White Horse has been newly refurbished with 13 en-suite bedrooms. The menu features many regional specialities and ever-changing specials, all of which are freshly prepared.
