- Can I juggle more than one task at any one time?
- Is it important that my performance as a business operator is financially rewarding?
- Do I have a strong desire to be successful?
- Do I enjoy a challenge?
- Do I believe that the quality of my staff are a reflection upon me?
- Do I enjoy analysing figures and deciding on an appropriate course of action?
- Am I effective at organising people?
- Do I lead by example & am I prepared to carry out the same work as my staff?
- Am I prepared to be flexible in my working hours?
- Do I enjoy recruiting, managing & developing members of staff?
- Do I enjoy setting targets for myself and beating them?
- Do I understand the risks of being self employed & am confident I can run a business?
- Am I prepared to be mobile during training?
If you answered ‘Yes’ to all these questions, then a career in a Shepherd Neame pub could be the best move you’ll ever make. However if you answered 'No' to two or three of the questions, then please think carefully whether life as a licensee is right for you.
